David Ruth
Sculpture is form existing in space. With transparency of glass, there is the possibility of viewing the space inside the form. For many years, I have been fascinated with the play of inside and outside and the paradox of an inside of a rock-solid mass. A working metaphor for my work in cast glass over the past fifteen years has been seeing the interior space of the solid object as a canvas for the expression of the internal life of mankind.
