This is a "hands on" workshop that will sharpen your design skills and enhance your kiln casting knowledge. Jayne steps you through fabricating various casting components that can be used as lighting fixtures or in other larger projects. You will have all the necessary tools, glass and instruction to leave with a finished lamp shade!
She shares her tips, tricks and techniques using reusable glass casting molds: correct preparation for flawless casting, how to fill glass molds accurately for consistent results and the firing and annealing guidelines specific to these molds and this size casting.
Jayne's expertise in frit color gradation will be another highlight of this very special workshop, as she helps you develop the methodology to create your very own custom frit color palette. Every frit color in the System 96 palette will be at your fingertips!
